My Creeveland Browns are a 2nd edition Human Blood Bowl team themed on their namesake 1980s Cleveland Browns of my youth. Growing up in the 80s in the UK, I remember watching the NFL on Channel Four with my dad. Most Sunday evenings were spent watching some game or other in the run up to the Super Bowl. My two favourite teams from this era being the San Francisco 49ers and the Cleveland Browns.
Cleveland were perennial underdogs, and I suppose that was one of the things that made them attractive as a team. Their uniform was brown, orange and white, making them stand out from other, more glamorous teams of that era. There aren’t many teams in sporting history that I can think of taking to the field in brown.
They had it all. A decent quarterback in Bernie Kosar. Three very good receivers in Brennan, Langhorn and Slaughter. Hall of fame tight end Ozzie Newsome was still on the roster back then. Byner and Mack were a decent pair of running backs. The thing that stuck with me all these years was seeing their special teams in action. It seemed like they would return a kick off or punt all the way back up the field for a score every other week or so.
In all the years I watched them the Browns never made it to the Super Bowl. The closest they got being the AFC Championship game, each time losing to the Denver Broncos (damn you John Elway!!!)

The Line Up
This Human Blood Bowl team are the first non-plastic human team I’ve ever owned (the other being the one that came in the second edition boxed set). A pretty standard line up for a second edition Human team, I basically went with what came in the box with this one.
4 Blockers
2 Blitzers
2 Catchers
2 Throwers
1 Kicker
5 Linemen
