The Ekrund Wanderers

The Wanderers

Bloodbowl was my introduction to miniature painting all those years ago. I got a copy of the second edition box for my twelfth birthday after pestering my parents. Didn’t even know anybody else who played at the time. I made a bit of a mess of the two plastic teams (human and orcs), that you got in the box. After some saving of pocket money I was able to buy more teams.

First up were the Dwarves.

The wanderers weren’t the Dwarf team I painted back then. I think originally I painted them in Dwarf Warhammerers yellow and grey. These aren’t even the same physical miniatures. The originals being lost in a house move.. Over the years I think I have owned at least three different Dwarf teams, all 80’s metal (oldhammer), none of the modern plastics. The Wanderers were painted around eight years ago and the re-discovered and given a fresh coat last year.

The Lineup

The teams lineup was a little unorthodox as I picked the positions I wanted to paint rather than what might have played well. The Wanderers consisted of

6 blockers

4 blitzers

3 Linemen

2 kickers..

…and a thrower.

The Dwarves wear the famous red and white stripes of my favourite football team.
