Recent Commissions

Over the years, I have painted a wide range of historical, fantasy, and wargaming miniatures for clients all over the world. This page showcases a selection of recent commission projects, highlighting the variety of armies, scales, and miniature types I work on.

All miniatures are painted by hand to a consistent tabletop standard, with a focus on reliability, army cohesion, and value for money.

Victorian British

  • Scale: 28mm
  • Figures: 10 infantry + 3 cavalry (Perry Miniatures)
  • Service: Tabletop Standard
  • Completion Time: 3 days

This commission featured a selection of Victorian British infantry and cavalry from Perry Miniatures, painted and based to a good tabletop standard.

A compact but varied force, combining foot and mounted troops typical of the late 19th-century colonial period, turned around in just 3 days.

English Civil War Generals

  • Scale: 28mm
  • Figures: English Civil War Generals (Warlord Games)
  • Service: Tabletop Standard
  • Completion Time: 3–5 working days
  • Basing: Client to complete

This commission featured a selection of English Civil War general figures from Warlord Games, painted to a good tabletop standard for a customer in Canada.

Each figure was painted individually, with care taken to reflect the varied dress and equipment typical of senior commanders from the period — a mix of armour, civilian clothing, and military attire that makes ECW command figures particularly characterful to paint.

Figures were delivered unbased, with basing left to the client to complete to their own preference. A compact commission, turned around in 3–5 working days.

  • Service: Tabletop Standard
  • Completion Time: 3 weeks

This large commission featured an Abyssinian army using miniatures from Empress Miniatures and Pontoonier Miniatures. The project included infantry, command figures, character models, and banners, all painted and based to a consistent tabletop standard.

Particular attention was paid to creating a cohesive force while ensuring the distinctive uniforms, equipment, and character models stood out across the army. The completed figures were based to complement the collection and provide a unified appearance on the tabletop.

This commission was completed for a customer in Canada and demonstrates the type of larger historical army projects regularly undertaken by Dundas Miniatures.

Seven Years War Sepoy Infantry

  • Scale: 28mm
  • Figures: 56 figures across two units, including officers, drummers, and standard bearers
  • Service: Tabletop Standard
  • Completion Time: 2 weeks

This commission comprised two units of Sepoy infantry for the Seven Years War — one representing British service and one French — each consisting of 28 figures including an officer, drummer, and two standard bearers.

Particular care was taken to differentiate the two units through accurate uniform colours and facing details, ensuring each force was immediately distinguishable on the tabletop while maintaining a cohesive painted standard across both.

All figures were painted and based to a good tabletop standard, ready for use straight out of the box. The commission was completed for a customer in Philadelphia, USA, and is a good example of the colonial and mid-18th century projects regularly undertaken by Dundas Miniatures.

This commission brought together Napoleonic forces from four nations — France, Russia, Spain, and the Kingdom of Naples — across a mixed selection of infantry and cavalry figures.

With four distinct armies represented in a single project, attention was paid to ensuring each nation’s uniforms and colour schemes were accurate and clearly differentiated, while maintaining a consistent finish across the whole collection.

All figures were painted and based to a good tabletop standard. The commission was completed for a customer in Hull and is a good example of the varied Napoleonic projects undertaken by Dundas Miniatures, whether a focused force or a broader multi-nation collection.
