This policy applies to commission painting services provided by Jim Dundas trading as Dundas Miniatures. As a bespoke service business, our policy reflects the nature of hand-painted commission work rather than standard retail returns.
This policy was last updated on 21st May 2026.
Commission Services
All work carried out by Dundas Miniatures is custom and bespoke. Each commission is painted to order based on your specific requirements, agreed in advance. Because of this, we are unable to offer refunds simply because you have changed your mind after work has begun.
Quality and Satisfaction
We take great pride in the quality of our work and aim to ensure every customer is happy with the result. Throughout your commission we will:
- Agree the scope, style, and requirements with you before starting
- Provide progress updates and images during the painting process. Revisions will be accomodated where possible. Large revisions will be charged at an hourly rate
- Share final photos for your approval before dispatch. Again, revisions will be charged at an hourly rate
If you are not satisfied with the finished work, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your miniatures. We will discuss the issue with you and, where reasonable, one free of charge revision will be offered. Any further revisions will be charged at an hourly rate.
Damaged in Transit
We take care to pack all miniatures securely before dispatch. If your figures arrive damaged, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photographs of the damage. We will work with you to find a fair resolution, which may include repair or partial refund depending on the circumstances.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel a commission:
- Before work has started: A full refund of any deposit paid will be provided
- After work has started: A partial refund may be offered at our discretion, reflecting the work already completed
- After completion: We are unable to offer refunds once the commission has been finished and approved
Return of Miniatures
If you supplied your own miniatures for painting and wish to have them returned, return postage is the responsibility of the customer. We recommend using a tracked service for valuable figures.
